About janitor-ai.io
What this site is
janitor-ai.io is an independent review and access portal covering the Janitor AI platform. We are not the Janitor AI team, not affiliated with them, and not responsible for what the platform itself decides to do. We're an editorial site: reviews, access guides, downtime tracking, model comparisons, and the occasional argument with our own methodology.
The idea is simple. Janitor AI is a large, moving-target product with 117M+ monthly visitors, weekly changes, and no PR team. Finding accurate current information about it usually means digging through Reddit threads and Discord archives. This site tries to be the honest shortcut — reviewed by a human, updated on a real cadence, and disclosed about what we earn on.
What we cover
The editorial coverage splits into two lanes. First, the platform itself: what Janitor AI is at any given moment, how the free JanitorLLM tier holds up, when to bring your own OpenAI/Claude/DeepSeek key, character library depth, and honest reporting on the downtime problem. Second, editorial transparency: the pages you're reading now — how we review, how the editorial process works, and the author profile for the person writing most of it.
Who runs it
The site is edited by Melissa Blake, a senior editor covering AI companion platforms since 2022. Melissa has hands-on time with 40+ platforms in the category — Character.AI, Chai, Replika, SpicyChat, CrushOn, Kindroid, Chub, and the rest — and has been in and out of Janitor AI specifically since October 2023, when the character library was still under 3,000. Every editorial page on this site is written or fact-checked by her.
Melissa is based in Amsterdam and holds a background in media studies from the University of Amsterdam. Her methodology is documented in full on the methodology page. Editorial independence, correction handling, and affiliate disclosure are on the editorial policy page.
Our relationship with Janitor AI (the platform)
None. We aren't affiliated with the Janitor AI team, don't have an operational partnership, and haven't been paid by them. The name "Janitor AI" refers to the third-party platform we cover editorially. Our CTAs use affiliate links where they exist — see the affiliate note below — but no editorial ranking or coverage is contingent on any relationship with any platform.
Our position on affiliate relationships
We do use affiliate links, and we're direct about it. When you click a CTA that opens Janitor AI (or any other platform we cover), the site may earn a small commission on qualifying signups or subscriptions. This is disclosed here, on the editorial policy page, and in the site footer. Affiliate revenue does not influence which platforms get coverage, what score we give them, or where they land in comparisons. Reviews of platforms we have zero affiliate relationship with get exactly the same editorial treatment.

Who this site is for
janitor-ai.io is a strictly 18+ resource, matching the Janitor AI platform's own age policy. The site is aimed at adults using AI chat for entertainment, roleplay, creative writing, or companionship, and who want editorial coverage that reads like a review, not a landing page dressed up as one.

The main Janitor AI review is the primary editorial output on this site — everything on this page sits behind that review. Governance-side reading includes the methodology for how reviews get produced and the editorial policy for how independence is maintained. Legal ground rules are documented in the terms of service, privacy notice, age verification page, and the 18 U.S.C. § 2257 statement.
